Soda Creative Ltd: Julian Saunderson Squard in section: Medialounge Arp in section: Medialounge Julian became hooked on computing when he wrote his first Fortran program in 1972 aged 11. After a gaining a degree in computing Julian explored various ways of avoiding the type of systems analysis and data processing jobs prevalent at the time before joining in 1987 what would later become the Centre for Electronic Arts at Middlesex University. For over ten years he tutored on, and helped set up and run, a number of innovative Masters courses aimed at supporting artists and designers wishing to explore novel possibilities offered by new technologies. Joining Soda shortly after its inception, Julian is now Technical Director and has had a hand in developing many of the projects for which Soda has gained its reputation. Artworks have included Technosphere (1995) with Jane Prophet, Gordon Selley and others.
